The incompetence of the Russian military is legendary, and is very much in the public eye with the debacle in the Ukraine. But even in peacetime, the Russian military is a high risk occupation, as demonstrated by this video by Paper Skies, focusing on the tragic crash of a Tupolev Tu-104 at Pushkin Airfield on February 7, 1981, resulting in the death of 16 admirals and generals, which essentially decapitated the Soviet Pacific Fleet. So very Russian!
